Did you know that more than ten million vultures were found
in India and Pakistan forty years ago but today it?
Only a few thousand
are left.
Why?
Why did vultures become extinct?
The most unfortunate reason for the extinction of vultures
in India and Pakistan is the pill called Diclofenac.
Diclofenac injections are given to animals such as cows and
buffaloes in the form of painkillers or fevers, and some of the meat or their
remains remain.
In such cases, those animals which die or are slaughtered
due to fever etc. shortly after consuming this medicine, then their entrails or
carcasses come to be eaten by vultures.
But
An issue arises here. Diclofenac's 0.8% content in the body
is also capable of killing vultures. Because it fails the vulture's kidneys.
And it makes crystals in their blood and makes them ring.
Therefore
If a very large number of donkeys died due to accidental
eating of only 1% of such animals.
And today the result is in front of us. In India and
Pakistan, there are cases of stray dogs being bitten and stray dogs because
about 99% of the donkeys living here have become extinct. And that's a huge
threat to the ecosystem.
The extinction of vultures has led to an increase in the
number of wild rats and stray dogs in the two countries. Vultures have a
special digestive system and metabolism that can digest all kinds of germs in
the body, but dogs and mice do not have them, which is why they are causing the
spread of various diseases.
Diclofenac has been discontinued in India but is still used
in Pakistan. Remember that a simple alternative to diclofenac is a pill called
meloxicam. If your doctor prescribes diclofenac to your cattle when they are
sick, please ask them to give you another drug, meloxicam, otherwise you will
be equally responsible for the destruction in the ecosystem.
